This Cookie & Local Storage Policy explains how CVDB ("we", "us", or "our") uses cookies, local device storage, and similar session technologies when you visit our website or use the CVDB mobile and web applications (collectively, the "Services").

1. What Are Cookies & Local Storage Tokens?

Cookies are small text files stored by your web browser when you visit a website. On mobile and web applications built with Flutter, we also use equivalent secure local storage and cryptographic session tokens (JWTs) on your device to keep you securely signed in and ensure the application functions reliably.

2. Types of Technologies We Use

We use session and storage technologies strictly for the following purposes:

2.1 Essential Authentication & Security Tokens (Strictly Necessary)

These tokens and cookies are required for the core operation and security of the Platform.

  • Purpose: They manage your authenticated user session (via Supabase Auth JWT tokens), enforce Row-Level Security (RLS) database permissions, and protect against unauthorized access.
  • Push Notification Tokens: On mobile devices and supported browsers, we store a Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token to deliver real-time job invitation and hiring pipeline alerts.
  • Requirement: Because the Platform cannot function securely without authentication tokens, essential session storage is active whenever you log into your account.

2.2 Functional & Rate-Limiting Storage

These entries allow the Platform to remember your active state and enforce fair-use rules.

  • Purpose: To remember your active tab filters (such as Invitation status filters), onboarding step progress, and daily usage counters (such as tracking your 5 free daily scans in the AI Job Match Scanner).

2.3 Performance & Diagnostic Telemetry

These technologies help us keep the Platform fast and reliable.

  • Purpose: To detect application errors, monitor API response times, and ensure database stability. We do not use third-party advertising trackers or sell browsing behavior to ad networks.

3. How to Manage or Clear Cookies & Device Storage

You have full control over cookies and local storage on your device:

  • In-App Sign Out / Account Deletion: Logging out of the CVDB app immediately clears your active authentication session token. Deleting your account in Settings permanently removes your profile and associated tokens.
  • Browser Settings: You can configure your web browser (Chrome, Safari, Edge, Firefox) to block or delete cookies and site data at any time.
  • Mobile OS Permissions: You can disable push notifications or clear app storage at any time through your Android or iOS device settings.
